Episode 3 - Girls Just Want To Have Fun
Oh do they? This week, Ali shows Jon a little slice of her childhood with 1985's Girls Just Want To Have Fun, a look at the sordid underbelly of Chicagoland dance competitions. Jon is baffled by the lack of Chicago accents and the sub-Blues Brothers level of Chicago geographical continuity. Ali struggles to get a word in edgewise.
Girls Just Want To Have Fun was directed by Alan Metter and written by Amy Spies and stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Helen Hunt, Not-Joey-Lawrence, and Jonathan Silverman. It does not star Shannon Doherty, no matter what the poorly photoshopped cover leads you to believe. Seriously, Biff Yeager has more screen time.
